For over a decade, the Opportunities Credit Union (OCU) has operated The Independence Fund, which is a low-interest financing tool for Vermonters with disabilities to finance the assistive technology they need to live their life. After a period of careful consideration and tremendous effort by the team at OCU, we are excited to announce that The Independence Fund has expanded their maximum amount to help Vermonters, purchase, and install all WheelPad products.

The Independence Fund

Through The Independence Fund, you can get the following financing:

·      Fixed 3% Interest Rate

·      Up to 15 Year Term

·      Up to $150,000

·      100% Financing - No down payment

Alpha One Disability + Aging Solutions

For those who are in need of financing and live in Maine, Alpha One Disability + Aging Solutions offers loan options through their Adaptive Equipment Loan Program (AELP):

  • Up to $100,000 loan

  • 3.75% interest rate with a 15-year amortization

  • $5,000 Grants also available

The program offers flexible term loans to individuals based in Maine with disabilities. AELP funds can be used to purchase equipment or technology that improves independence, safety and quality of life for a person with a disability.

Affordable ADU Program

If you live in Napa Valley, California, the Affordable ADU Program offers forgivable construction loans for new accessory dwelling units (ADU) in exchange for commitments to rent those properties to households earning up to 80 percent of the area median income for a period of at least five years. Depending on the number of rooms and design features of the ADU, the loan amount ranges from $45,000 (studio) to $105,000 (two bedrooms).
